WALPINDI: Adiala jail was the site of the first execution of 2017 in Pakistan after murderer Naveed Hussain was put to death.
He had been awarded the death sentence for his alleged involvement in murder and sectarian violence in 2006 in Gilg
it.
“The accused was arrested in connection
with the sectarian violence, extremism and terrorism allegations but later the Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) has awarded him death sentence”, the police said.
They added that the accused h
ad also been involved in the assassination of Anti Terrorism Court Jud
ge Jamshed Jadoon. They further noted that the accused had escaped from Skardu jail in 2013.
His mercy appeal h
ad also been rejected by President Mamnoon Hussain.
